Podcast: Helpmeet: I Don't Think It Means What You Think It Means

Welcome back to Christian Feminism Weekly with Ashley and Charlie!

Have you heard of the biblical word "helpmeet"? Does it bring to remembrance ideas of a woman being a subordinate helper to a leading man? Today, we are going to be talking about the real meaning of the word and it just might surprise you.

"I think it's really important to understand that with translations, with how things are misinterpreted, and how these verses are taught in church, Bible studies, and books, a lot of the time it is part of an agenda to keep women submissive. If the word was 'warrior' in the Bible, people would be questioning women's place in the church, the home, and society. But instead, it's something that fits more with the complementarian agenda."
